Found neighborhood, toured Rome model, met our super awesome Sales Rep!

Special was free morning room ($12,000 value) and free porch elevation (For Rome, it was Elevation E - $11,995 value)
Go look at Verona model in nearby neighborhood to compare

Went back to neighborhood to show my mom since she was in town

March 24, 2014

Had our realtor run comparable home prices in the area to see if it was a good deal

Went back to neighborhood with in-laws

April 1, 2014

Not-so-great-sales rep says she can give us half of porch incentive if sign a contingent contract by April 9th

New section opens with one lot that will have nothing built behind it; initially told October/November delivery is likely

Looked at neighborhood model with my Bonus-Mom

Put a 48 hour hold on the lot we liked

Pictures taken at our current home; met with Sales Rep to review options and negotiate

Our current house (finally) goes on the market!

We met with Ryan Homes to put a contract on the lot we wanted!  We made a non-contingent offer so we can get the full incentives (even though I always say that’s a terrible idea when watching House Hunters!)
We are told mid-July start date with October delivery date

April 26, 2014

Looked at 5 more resale homes to make sure that we are totally happy with the decision to build – we are, we didn’t see anything we liked better

April 29, 2014

Met with NVR Mortgage to get pre-approved for home loan

May 1, 2014

Met with SR to do a 7 day check in and talk about options

May 9, 2014

14 day meeting with SR

May 18, 2014

Receive first offer on our current house

May 19, 2014

We countered, they countered… we didn’t accept

May 22,2014

Got another offer from new buyers, ask 1st couple if they want to counter

May 23, 2014

We accept counter offer from original buyers and closing on July 15th  
 
Met with Advanced Flooring to pick out flooring options

May 31, 2014

Home inspection for current house

June 17, 2014

Appraisal completed.

July 7, 2014
Termite inspection

July 11, 2014

Check in with SR on start date and pre-construction meeting date... waiting on county approval for permits - BUMMER!  Told we should know something next week.

July 12, 2014

Move to our temporary house

Sign our paperwork for closing

July 15, 2014 

 Buyers sign paperwork - it's official, we are no longer homeowners!

July 18, 2014  

 Check in with SR again on start date and pre-construction meeting date... still waiting on county approval for permits - BUMMER AGAIN!  More waiting...
